The Deaf President Now, was a student protest in March 1988 at Gallaudet University. Gallaudet University students don't want a hearing president on their land. Their goal to have respect for their deaf culture in their university. They want have deaf president in their land and that way they will learn something in real world and experience. That's amazing for deaf student borrowed the famous MLK poster "We still have a dream!" during black people right! It was most important to show as brave that they can do what they really want to fight for their right. Even world will know why they fight for! So it's next to deaf people, first black, then woman right, then now deaf people.
The Deaf President Now, students protest by capital white house, they try show to our world that they need to their support more. They truly want have deaf president and do what they want. Many hearing university have hearing president and nothing fair to deaf people. That make deaf people realized and truly want see the deaf president in their university. The person who deaf for president was hearing before, after accident in motorcycle that caused his loss hearing, his name Irving King Jordan (born June 16, 1943 in Glen Riddle, Pennsylvania) became, in 1988, the first deaf president of Gallaudet University he'd become president for Gallaudet University.
